Dog Island Brewing Company

Loading...

Dog Island Brewing was founded in September 2013 by Ben Fiddler and Chad Paulson. Both were trade workers in the oil patch and passionate home brewers from Slave Lake, Alberta. When the oil industry faced an economic downturn, the two partners saw an opportunity to diversify. They decided to pursue their dream and started building their own brewery from scratch. Ben even learned to weld in order to create custom tables for the tasting room. From design to construction and calibrating instruments, they handled everything themselves. After years of hard work, Dog Island Brewing officially opened its doors on October 28, 2016. They focus on keeping things fresh and local, with their beer initially available only in Slave Lake. Visitors are welcome to the taproom, where they can sample beers and enjoy light food options through local partnerships. Growlers are also available for take-home.
