Gwynne Valley Ski Area

Gwynne Valley Ski Area, located near Wetaskiwin in Alberta’s Central Prairies, offers family-friendly skiing with convenient amenities for an easy winter escape. Tucked into the north-facing slopes of Gwynne Valley at the south end of Coal Lake, this volunteer-run hill features a cozy ski chalet, concessions, equipment rentals, a snow school, and ski patrol services. Visitors can spot the lifts and runs from Highway 13 before turning south onto Range Road 230 and following the winding road across the railway tracks and bridge. The hill sits about 10 km east of Wetaskiwin on Highway 13, or 20 km west of the junction with Highway 21 and Highway 13 west of Camrose, making it an accessible day-trip destination for learners and casual skiers.
