Maligne Canyon Icewalks by Pursuit
Following damage from the 2024 wildfires, Maligne Canyon Icewalks remains closed. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future! - In the winter, skiers flock to Jasper. But there is at least one hike that shouldn’t be missed when temperatures drop and the snow flies. The Maligne Canyon Icewalk is a fascinating exploration of Jasper’s deepest canyon at its most beautiful. The frozen waterfalls, fossils, frosted limestone and ice caves make for an almost otherworldly experience. The walks are run by Pursuit, a respected experience and lodging provider. Participants should dress warmly. Pursuit supplies the boots, ice cleats and helmets needed to make the walk a safe and enjoyable experience. The walks are open to children over the age of six and take about 2.5 hours to complete. Tours generally begin in December and run Wednesday to Sunday at 9 a.m. and noon. Lunch at the Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen is included in the price.
