Perched on the 5th floor of the Centennial Centre for Interdisciplinary Science at the heart of the University of Alberta, the Department of Physics Astronomical Observatory offers a unique window into the cosmos. Visitors can experience daytime solar observation in a hands-on, educational setting every Thursday from noon to 1 PM, making it an accessible and engaging stop for curious minds of all ages. Throughout the year, the observatory also opens its doors for evening viewing sessions from September through mid-April, inviting the public to explore the night sky in greater depth. With no admission fee and a welcoming atmosphere, it provides an inclusive opportunity to discover astronomy and connect with the wonders of the universe.
